• Casino Night Scores
Slot machines, Blackjack and roulette were just some of the games on tap at NYBOT’s Futures and Options for Kids Casino Night 2006 benefit fundraiser, held this year on June 22 at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Back for a second year, the event brought together sports celebs Bobby Thomson and John Starks and more than 270 attendees who called on Lady Luck, and a few other deities and good-luck charms, to ante up their chances of winning a LV 40 inch flat screen television along with a bevy of other prizes.
Live and silent auctions were also held at the event. An autographed picture of the 1969 Miracle Mets along with “The House that Ruth Built,” a watercolor by James Fiorentino, an artist who’s representations of ball players, sports stars and politicos have been displayed in such prominent places as the NationalBaseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, were amongst the most coveted auction items.
