PATRICK J. O'SHEA
COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The ARTHUR KAPLAN AWARD

On February 28, 2002 Futures & Options for Kids renamed its CEC Community Service Award to honor the memory of Patrick J. O'Shea. Pat will always be remembered, for his commitment as a volunteer, accomplished professional and devoted family man.

In 1999, Pat was appointed to the Board of Directors of Futures & Options for Kids. Until his untimely passing on September 11, 2001, he was a dedicated and loyal supporter. Whether it was raising funds every Friday for Dress Down or as Chairman of the Sales & Merchandise Committee, Pat was always there.

Pat's main commitment was to his family, wife Sheila and children Patrick and Megan, he also devoted many hours to Patrick's Boy Scout troop. His professional commitments included, serving on the Board of Directors of the New York Board of Trade, New York Clearing Corporation, and committees of CFBTA and the Futures Industry Association. The most outstanding quality we remember about Pat O'Shea was his sense of humor which was accompanied by his diligent and loyal nature.

This award is given annually to an individual in the futures industry who exemplifies his dedication to the needs of children.
